Resume Tips for Pharmacy Professionals | Tip #3

with Tom Alig | Vice President of Staffing at Indispensable Health

Hi, I am Tom Alig, VP of Staffing with Indispensable Health. I’ve been recruiting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians since 2004, and I’ve seen the things good candidates do to separate themselves, and I’ve seen the mistakes that some candidates make.

This is the third in a series of short videos on suggestions for preparing your resume for a pharmacy position.

Today’s Tip: Make it easy for me to contact you.

Have a professional email address. They give away email addresses. For FREE with Google, Yahoo, and many others. If you need to, get an email address specially set up for your job search.

Make sure your email address is spelled correctly. Have a friend type in the email address exactly as it is written on your resume, and have them send you a test email. Make sure it works. Speaking of which, check out the phone number written on your resume. You’d be surprised at how often people put the wrong phone number on their resume. It happens. Have your friend call the number that is written on your resume. Ensure your voicemail is set up and that is NOT full.

You have spent a lot of time on your resume, it looks good, your experience is great. Make it easy for me to contact you. If I get a bounce back from the email, if your voicemail box is full, I am moving on to the next candidate.
